Mindfulness Meditation
My Favorite Mindfulness program – and it’s free!
Back in 2016, I started a program called Mindfulness Daily which supported me with learning mindfulness every day for 10-15 minutes for 40 days. At the end, I noticed a dramatic shift in my wellbeing and then signed up for The Power of Awareness, a 7-week mindfulness course with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Then I got really hooked and entered their two-year teacher certification training which I completed in February 2021.

Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach also have websites which rich resources to support mental health and mindfulness.

In 2018, my therapist introduced me to the benefits of self-compassion, mostly to help soften my inner critic and to learn to be kind to myself. That's when I participated in my first workshop with the Queen of self-compassion, Kristin Neff. She has a website with a generous offering of guided meditations and exercises. You can take a test to measure the various aspects of self-compassion too!

Self Compassion for Kids
Jamie Lynn has a cool workbook to use to teach your kids self-compassion.
I love The Self-Compassion Workbook for Kids by Lorraine Hobbs & Amy Balentine for younger kids
and The Self-Compassion Workbook for Teens: Mindfulness and Compassion Skills to Overcome Self-Criticism and Embrace Who You Are by Karen Bluth for teens. I often use her adaptations of mindfulness and self-compassion for teens.

I've been following Rick Hanson's work for over a decade. His superpower is chewing on neuroscience and mindfulness and then delivering it in a way that is super practical. Here's his website with offers an abundance of meditations and teachings.
Rick's son, Forrest Hanson, has the only podcast that I actually (vs plan to someday) listen to. He interviews the BIG thinkers, feelers, and doers in the world and has a special gift for summarizing it all.
